YOGA WITH NATALIE

Yesterday, I had my first yoga class with Natalie. I had chair yoga with Marietta earlier in the day and I taught karate about 90 minutes before. I was a bit sore from karate class as I spent most of it demonstrating.


Being an evening class—7pm—the emphasis was on winding down from our day and relaxation. There were poses and combinations that were new to me. Natalie has a calming presence that adds to evening practice beautifully. I’ve done yoga for a number of years, on and off, struggling to find a teacher who resonated with me who didn’t leave the area or otherwise stop teaching at the place I was taking it. After my first class with Natalie I am hoping to have many more years of practice with her.


Challenging with the added benefit of a calming energy to encourage rest and a good night’s sleep, I appreciated yoga practice in a whole new way. I will be adding evening yoga with Natalie after teaching karate on Monday nights as part of my regular wellness routine. I will keep you posted on the longer-term benefits as they manifest. For now, the short-term benefits and immediate effects of grounding yoga after karate are more than enough to keep me coming back.
